Antoni Komasa-Łazarkiewicz

Film and TV as well as theatrical music composer, based in Berlin. He grew up in Warsaw music cirles, so his music adventure started early on – he made his debut at the age of 15, creating music for a theatrical performance. Composition Department in Music Academy in Krakow was mere continuation of his musical degree. In 2002 he composed music for Agnieszka Holland ‘Julie Walking Home’ feature, and that international production led to another collaboration with director Hans Steinbichler, for whose three consecutive films Komasa-Lazarkiewicz composed music score. Since 2007 he lives and works in Berlin, working on coproductions -  Agnieszka Holland’s ‘Spoor’ (Mocart Award 2017 for music), ‘In Darkness’ (Golden Eagle for music), ‘Horici Ker’ produced by HBO Europe (Czech Film Academy Award – Golden Lion, Czech Film Critics Award), American mini-series‘Rosemary Baby’, Polish-Lithuanian ‘Back to Your Arms’ or Polish-German-Israeli film ‘Igor and the Cranes Journey’ to name a few.

He is uniquely versatile composer, unveiling layers and offering different narrative styles for music, however his latest projects remain within genre, complementing themes on modern history, individual fight against the system and terror. He is more than able to construct subtle narrative with his music pieces, enriching cinematic landscape.

He recorded his music with the best - London Symhony Orchestra and Choir, Sinfonia Varsovia, Polish Radio Orchestra and Sinfonietta Cracovia, collaborating with Air Lyndhurst Studios in London, LowSwing in Berlin, Studio of Polish Radio and Alvernia.
