One of Poland’s most acclaimed costume designers, Dorothée has built an outstanding career spanning feature films, television, theatre and commercial productions. Renowned for her meticulous research, artistic vision and ability to create distinctive visual worlds, she has collaborated with many of Poland’s leading filmmakers on both historical epics and contemporary dramas.
Her work has received numerous accolades, including multiple Polish Film Awards (Eagles) and Golden Lions at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. Among her most celebrated productions are Hiszpanka (Influenza), City 44, The Mill and the Cross—Lech Majewski’s visually stunning recreation of Pieter Bruegel’s painting starring Charlotte Rampling, Michael York and Rutger Hauer—and Nikifor.
Dorothée designed the costumes for Jan Komasa’s Academy Award-nominated Corpus Christi, one of the most internationally acclaimed Polish films of recent years, honoured with dozens of awards at festivals worldwide, including Venice, Gdynia, Minsk, El Gouna and CinEast.
Her recent feature film credits include Kos, Święto Ognia, Brigitte Bardot Cudowna, Magnezja, Strzępy, Fucking Bornholm and Kajtek Czarodziej. She received the Polish Film Award (Eagle) for Best Costume Design for Kos, Brigitte Bardot Cudowna and Magnezja.
Her latest projects include the highly anticipated television adaptation of Lalka and the feature film Nasza Rewolucja, further demonstrating her remarkable versatility and enduring influence on contemporary Polish cinema.
Dorothée is a member of the Polish Film Academy, the European Film Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
