Jakub Czerwiński

Born in Warsaw in the 1980s, Kuba is a graduate of the Cinematography Department at the Łódź Film School. He has worked on a diverse range of projects including commercials, music videos, short films, TV series, and feature films. As a camera operator, he contributed to notable films such as Letters to Santa 3 and Letters to Santa 2 (directed by Tomasz Konecki), Breaking the Limits (directed by Łukasz Palkowski), and Warsaw '44 (directed by Jan Komasa).

Kuba’s work as a cinematographer has been recognized at several prestigious festivals. He was awarded the Silver Tadpole at the PLUS Camerimage Festival in the short features category for Through the Glass (directed by Igor Chojna). This film also received praise at the Gdynia Film Festival's Young Cinema Competition for its "capturing of the subtle magic of reality in the Polish countryside."

His collaboration with Mateusz Rakowicz on the short feature Romantic garnered widespread acclaim on the festival circuit and earned a nomination for the Jan Machulski Polish Independent Cinema Award for Best Cinematography.

In recent years, Kuba has been heavily involved in television, working on popular series such as Brzydula, Komisarz Mama, O mnie się nie martw, Chyłka, as well as the Netflix series Dead End (Pewnego razu na krajowej jedynce), a comedic crime story about a group of strangers who accidentally escape with two million zlotys stolen from a bank.

Kuba’s latest cinematographic work on Utrata równowagi (Loss of Balance), directed by Korek Bojanowski, won the Golden Clapper award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia and received the Don Kichot Award from the Polish Federation of Film Discussion Clubs. The film has been hailed as one of the most compelling debuts of the year, with critics praising its unflinching portrayal of psychological violence in acting departments at theater and film schools. Tv series "Drelich" with Kuba's cinematography is planned to premiere in September in TVP.
