He is also a music producer and founder of his own recording studio, as well as a member of ZAiKS.
He studied Sociology at Collegium Civitas before pursuing a career in music composition. In 2019, he received a nomination for Best Original Score at the Film Music Festival in Kraków for his music to the acclaimed TV series The Mire (Rojst), directed by Jan Holoubek.
His filmography includes scores for feature films such as Panie Dulskie (dir. Filip Bajon), Snow White and Russian Red, Chaos (dir. Xawery Żuławski), Apokawixa (dir. Xawery Żuławski), Doppelgänger. Sobowtór (dir. Jan Holoubek), and Kulej. He has also composed music for the television series The Mire (Rojst), High Water, Rojst Millennium, and Heweliusz, collaborating extensively with director Jan Holoubek.
For his score to Kulej, Jan received a nomination for the Polish Film Award (Eagle Award). The soundtrack was also nominated for Polish Soundtrack of the Year 2024, further confirming his position among Poland’s leading contemporary film composers.
Most recently, Jan composed the score for Netflix’s Heweliusz, one of the platform’s most-watched Polish series. The production received widespread critical acclaim and won four major awards at the BNP Paribas Warsaw SerialCon Festival, including Best Polish Series and the Audience Award.
