Katarzyna Sikora

Katarzyna’s keen sense of design, form, and function emerged at an early age. After studying Film Set Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, she brought her creativity into the film and advertising industry, first gaining experience as an assistant to production designers before moving on to work independently on feature films and commercials.

She has successfully balanced visual creativity and design expertise in feature films such as Po prostu przyjaźń (dir. Filip Zylber) as art director and Serce nie sługa (dir. Filip Zylber) as both set decorator and art director. Her portfolio also includes the acclaimed Mr. Jones (dir. Agnieszka Holland), where she served as supervising art director and art department coordinator, overseeing collaboration with Scottish and Ukrainian teams. The film received the Production Design award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.

Katarzyna expanded her scope as production designer on the TV drama series Król (dir. Jan P. Matuszyński), based on Szczepan Twardoch’s novel, and in recent years has dedicated herself to international productions. These include The Zone of Interest (dir. Jonathan Glazer), winner of the Grand Prize at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival; the TV series Westwall (dir. Isabel Prahl); and the feature film Oni / They (dir. Tomasz Wolentarski).

Her work on The Zone of Interest was submitted to the Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA) Awards. The film went on to win two Oscars at the 96th Academy Awards — Best International Feature Film and Best Sound — and earned a BAFTA nomination for Production Design.
