Maciej Twardowski

Maciej is one of the most talented young cinematographers in Poland. His work was acclaimed in Indiewire magazine on the list of The 10 Best Cinematographers of 2017.

“All the sleepless nights” with Maciej’s cinematography was awarded on many Polish and international festivals, also in Sundance Film Festival (Directing Award). He received the Juliusz Machulski Award for Best Cinematography for "Deer Boy."

Maciej’s work has a strong photographic visual style and this in turn gives his work a striking emotional intensity. His passion is for natural imagery, he is able to work with everyday images and give them a richness and character far beyond themselves.

Latest films with Maciej's cinematography are:  "Islander" directed by Zoran Lisinac and  feature film/documentary "Fioretta" directed by Matthew Mishory. "Fioretta" is a story about journey of Randy Schoenberg (grandson of the famous composer) and his 18-year-old son Joey through Europe and the centuries to reclaim 500 years of family history. For "Fioretta" Maciej received award for Best Cinematography at DOC LA. Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival. The movie was also received Best Screenwriting and Best Producer Award.

Recently Maciej finished work on the feature film "Lany poniedziałek" / "Wet Monday" directed by Justyna Mytnik, a magical story of teenage-hood, healing from trauma and the power of empathy.
