Winner of the Golden Claw Award at the 45th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia for the film “Magnesia.” His third feature film “Freestyle” produced for the Netflix platform (TOP 10 in over 20 countries) was presented in the Main Competition of the 48th FPFF in Gdynia.
He made his debut in 2009 with the short documentary film “The Reception” (2011) as part of the “First Documentary” program at Munk Studio, and the short film “The Room,” which, among other things, was awarded the title of best independent film at the 37th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, and was selected by Dziennik Polski as one of the 10 best Polish films of 2012.
He is the author of the acclaimed feature-length documentaries “A Billion Happy People” (an HBO production, whose pretext was the Chinese adventure of the band Bayer Full) and “Ethiopiques – Music of the Soul” (an HBO production, telling the forgotten story of Ethiopian jazzmen from the time of Haile Selassie).
Director of the hit TV series “The Office PL,” the 5th season has premiered on the Canal + platform in November 2025.
Maciek recently achieved a major success at the Industry section of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival, where he received three awards for the best pitch of his new documentary project, “The Lawyer.”
He also recently directed the acclaimed series “Ekspedycja xD,” which blends family drama with road adventure. The story centers on twin brothers forced to confront their past after a manipulative relative tears their family apart. Their journey into the gritty, unpredictable world of long-haul trucking becomes both a fight for justice and a test of their bond.
