Stanisław Horodecki

Stanisław was born in 1996 and graduated from the Gdynia Film School in 2018.

Immediately after graduation, he worked as camera operator on the feature Zieja, collaborating with cinematographer Witold Płóciennik and director Robert Gliński. He then joined the TV series Pułapka 2 with Marian Prokop and Adrian Panek, followed by a year as camera operator on the series O mnie się nie martw, where he eventually debuted as director of photography.

In late 2020, he shot his second TV series as cinematographer, Przyjaciółki (episodes 195–202) directed by Filip Gieldon. The same collaboration led, in March 2021, to his first full-length feature film Magdalena at the age of just 25, making him one of the youngest cinematographers in Polish history.

His debut feature went on to win multiple awards in Poland, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Finland, including Best Feature at the Nottingham International Film Festival. His short films—Summer 43, Sto lat, Tacking, Everything for My Friend, and Trap—have been selected and awarded at festivals in Poland, Portugal, Finland, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, India, and Slovakia, among others.

In August 2024, he was selected by the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) for the prestigious ASC Vision Mentorship Program for 2024–2025.

Beyond film, he has played guitar since childhood and has a passion for skateboarding. His photography work has been featured by Kodak, Vogue, K-MAG, and Fotopolis.pl.
