Beata Karaś

Beata graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, earning her diploma under Prof. St. Kulon. She is a painter, graphic artist, and sculptor.

Since 2009, she has been closely connected to the world of film, gaining professional experience as an assistant set designer and second set designer on productions such as General Nil (dir. Ryszard Bugajski), Popiełuszko: Freedom Is Within Us (dir. Rafał Wieczyński), Wałęsa. Man of Hope (dir. Andrzej Wajda), Reverse (dir. Borys Lankosz), and A Grain of Truth (dir. Borys Lankosz).

Alongside her film work, Beata also works as an interior decorator. She is particularly passionate about historical film objects—furniture, textiles, and props—which she uses not only to visually define a character, but also to evoke the atmosphere of a bygone world.

As a set decorator, she has created interiors for feature films and television series including Scheda (dir. Anna Kazejak), Zatoka szpiegów 2 (dir. Łukasz Ostalski), Forgotten Love (Znachor, dir. Michał Gazda, Netflix), Zatoka szpiegów (dir. Michał Rogalski), Hunting for Moths (dir. Michał Rogalski), Zgoda (dir. Maciej Sobieszczański), Legions (dir. Dariusz Gajewski), Pilecki’s Report (dir. Krzysztof Łukaszewicz), and Mr. T (dir. Marcin Krzyształowicz), which won the 2019 Polish Film Award Eagle for Best Production Design.

Privately, she is a lover of good books, beautiful objects, and cycling.
