Piotr Sobociński jr.

Piotr is one of the most prominent cinematographers in Poland. He is a multiple winner of main Polish film awards, including the Golden Eagle Award (7 nominations, 4 wins) in the category Best Cinematography, Award of the Polish Society of Cinematographers (7 nominations, 2 wins) and Camerimage International Cinematography Festival (7 nominations, 2 wins). His works were honoured in many international festivals as well.

Piotr has got cinematography in his blood. He is the son of Piotr Sobocinski and the grandson of Witold Sobociński, who graduated from Cinematographers Department at the Film School in Lodz. Since 2007 he has been making feature films and commercials as a director of photography. He works with top advertisement agencies around the world: Havas, Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis, DDB, Leo Burnett.

Throughout his career up to date he has had the opportunity to cooperate with acclaimed Polish and foreign directors such as Jan Komasa, Wojciech Smarzowski, Łukasz Palkowski, Paweł Maślona, Piotr Domalewski, Márta Mészáros and Ricky Rijnecke.

For his latest feature film "Kos" directed by Paweł Maślona Piotr received Grand Prix of Polish Films Competition at The Camerimage Film Festival 2024. For this movie Piotr was also nominated to Goldean Eagle Award. It was one of the most awarded feature films at Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 2023 (Golden Lions Award and many more).

Member of Polish Society of Cinematographers (PSC), Polish Film Academy, the European Film Academy (EFA) and the American Film Academy.
